Introduction

I expect to learn about World Literature in this class. I'm expecting to read stories from around the world that I'm not familiar with, and be introduced to foreign cultures.

I want to learn new writing strategies, and learn to better incorporate various cultural references into my writing.

My strengths in English are that I'm good at reading and writing, and pretty good at comprehension. I write a lot of poems, and I have written several short stories. The work I submit in class usually gets a decent grade, and the teachers generally like the way I write. My comprehension of stories is pretty good, and there are times when I can find things in it that no one else would have thought of.

My weaknesses are that I get bored and distracted very easily if I'm not interested in what I'm doing, which can be a problem in this class. This has happened many times when I've found the selected reading to be very unenjoyable, and I have a very hard time finishing the work because I can't get through the book.

  1. You like to do what you like to do... Is that a fair statement? You are indeed an outstanding student in English... but you can be better. You need to pay more attention to detail when it comes to publishing and final drafts. You also need to stay up with the due dates. I expect you to act like a college bound student because it would be an extreme shame if you do not continue your education to the next level. You have the gift of brains Ben... use it wisely... I could quote Spiderman... "With great power comes great responsibility!"
